MBA 501 Online: Management Essentials: Annotated Bibliography

This guide is designed to help MBA 501 students in the online course.

Annotated Bibliography

An annotated bibliography usually contains a summary and analysis of several sources.  Be sure to follow your professor's directions.

Annotated Bibliographies by OWL Purdue

Annotated Bibliographies by Scribbr (this one has the best example of the correct spacing and indenting)

Requirements:

  1. Pick a management topic of your choice. Consider picking a broad topic that you could narrow down if needed.
  2. Then find 5 peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles that are recent and related to your topic. (some professors say no older than 5 years and some give a little more leeway on what is considered recent)
  3. Plan ahead and choose at least two empirical research articles to be included in your annotated bibliography.  You will need empirical research articles for article analysis #1 and #2 later in the course. Read more about empirical research
  4. READ all 5 articles. Be sure you read the FULL TEXT of the article not just an abstract about it.
  5. You MUST use your own words to summarize each article. Do NOT copy and paste the abstract that was written for the article.
  6. Use the example below to be sure you have the spacing and indenting correct.
  7. Don't forget the REQUIRED GSB cover page.
