Reciprocal Borrowing Agreement & Local Libraries
Saint Leo University students attending the Orlando Education Center may utilize area public and academic libraries to supplement Saint Leo library resources. These libraries will require a borrowing card in order for you to check out materials. Through a reciprocal borrowing agreement with University of South Florida, Saint Leo students may obtain a Special Borrower's card. This card is usually $50 - but this fee will be waived and the card will be free to Saint Leo students who bring in their SLU ID and a state issued ID Card (such as a driver's license) and complete the special borrower's form at the USF Main Library. All books checked out from USF libraries must be returned by the Saint Leo student to that USF library. Saint Leo students must adhere to all borrowing policies set forth by USF libraries as a user of these libraries. The special borrower's card may be utilized at both the University of South Florida Main Library and the University of South Florida Mental Health Institute Library, but students must first go to the USF Main library to get the Special Borrower's card - ONLY the main library issues the cards for both libraries - the University of South Florida Mental Health Institute Library does not issue cards for either library. The special borrower's card may not be used at the USF Shimberg Library, but Saint Leo students may utilize the Shimberg Library materials inside the Shimberg library and use the library scanners.
Other area libraries available to Saint Leo University students are listed below. Please telephone or review libraries' web sites before visiting in order to obtain current information on operating hours, parking details, user services and fees, access policies and if any, branch locations, also note that some libraries require that the student bring their Saint Leo University student identification card. To obtain a student/employee ID card, see our ID card information page.
