Duplication of video/audio files is one of the many services Media staff has to offer. Duplication of materials can usually by comleted within 1-2 weeks; however, there may be other duplicating requests that are already scheduled. We do not duplicate copyrighted materials unless you have written permission from the copyright owner.
Editing of video/audio files is another of the many services Media staff has to offer. Please be aware that editing video or audio materials is very labor intensive (it takes an average of 3-5 minutes for every minute produced!) and the quality of the end product is only as good as the original. Editing can, in most circumstances, be completed within 3-5 weeks; however, there may be other editing requests already scheduled, and each job is different. We do not edit copyrighted materials unless you have written permission from the copyright owner.
Media Services will edit the beginning and the end of a video and add a title screen if necessary as part of our regular duties. Note: the only editing that will be done on VTT and cable broadcast events will be this editing due to the quality of the initial recording.
Additional editing, meaning frame by frame, insterting or merging additional video or audio, will be subject to $25 per hour charge to your department and subject to V.P. approval (editing is done either on overtime or outsourced - the charge could be higher if it has to be outsourced). It should be noted that a good edit takes about five times the amount of time as the original video, i.e. a 2 hour video will take about 10 hours or $250 to properly edit.
