Outcome Mapping

"Outcome Mapping (OM) is an approach to planning, monitoring, and evaluating social change initiatives. It is a set of tools and guidelines that steer project or program teams through an iterative process to identify their desired change and to work collaboratively to bring it about. Its originality lies in the shift away from assessing the impact of a program—and toward changes in the behaviors, relationships, actions, or activities of the people, groups, and organizations with whom a program is working directly and seeking to influence—and of the program being influenced by these interactions."-Systems Concepts in Action, Chapter 4
