Watch in the reference are for anyone who is standing by the printer. How long are they there? If more than 1` minute,go ask them if they need help, then make some small talk. Ideas for small talk:
Doing homework and not focusing on our community can kill our community. Be present. Homework is allowed but please remember that is not the focus of your job. Being present, doing your tasks, encouraging community IS your job (and ours).
Please watch this video and then take the quiz.
If someone calls and needs assistance with searching, writing, etc. and needs accommodations, please refer the person to the research/reference desk. (800) 359-5945 or extension 8477.
If someone needs a "quiet place" to study, read, do their homework, there are two group study rooms that can be reserved, and the quiet zones of the library are: laptop area in browsing, tables in bound shelving, study carrels on first floor; on the second floor the quiet zone is the north wall (study carrels) and the two tables closest to the north wall.
Headphones are also available in circulation to limit noise from media.
