Course Reserves & other help

COURSE RESERVES

Course reserves is a library service where instructors can request physical or digital library resources be made available for their courses. The list of reserved materials is available here.  There is also a blue binder on top of the shelving in circulation that can help locate materials if you cannot find them by searching the online list.

WHEN A STUDENT ASKS FOR AN ITEM ON RESERVE

  1. Look it up using the online Course Reserves. If you cannot locate it there, review the blue binder in circulation, which is located on top of the shelves housing the print reserves. IF you still cannot find it, ask for help from a GA or staff member.
  2. CHECK the item out in the system if there is a barcode on the blue slip or on the book. IF there is not barcode, use the blue slip to fill out the information.
  3. A student checking out a reserve item MUST use it in the library. They MUIST provide a ID OR a car key/room key before being given the book. A reserve item can be used for up to 3 hours.

PRINTING

Students can print assignments, resumes, syllabi, etc. in the library using THEIR login ID and password, or their student ID card. The guest card IS NOT to be loaned to students.

Common problems with printing include:

  1. Papercut not working - try restarting Papercut, or ask the student to move to a different computer
  2. Out of paper - load more paper
  3. Mismatch in paper size
    1. Ask a GA or staff member to assist in resolving this issue by clearing out old jobs with the incorrect paper size selected.
  4. Student has not associated their card with the printing system
    1. Student will need to login to the printer with their login ID (firstname.lastname) and password as they would to login to OKTA
