Expectations
The Library is a workplace, and we want you to be successful.
- Be on time. Call or email if you find you will not be on time.
- Call or email at least an hour before your shift if you cannot make your shift.
- Follow the dress code.
- Come in on time with a good attitude; it makes a difference for everyone, including you.
- Please limit use of your cellphone & computer for personal use on your own time, (i.e. breaks, and when not on the clock). You can use your personal computer for studying and doing classwork IF all assigned tasks are completed. We do understand there may times when you are expecting an important phone call or an emergency arises, and you may need to use your cellphone. Please step away from your work area and use it outside if at all possible.
- Greet everyone who enters and exits with a smile.
- Be customer service oriented.
- Come in prepared to work. Make sure all tasks are done before starting on homework.
- Do not gossip.
- Please limit food to a small snack or drink. Meals can be eaten on the patio, or in Technical Services
- The Circulation Supervisor's Office is a workspace for the Circulation Supervisor; graduate students may go in there to obtain headphones, laptops etc. for checkout.
- The golf cart cannot be checked out to students, per our insurance company.
- Laptops are to be checked out by full time staff, or by GAs. Please ask for assistance if you are an undergraduate student worker.
- Be familiar with the student worker handbook.
Supervisors
Please listen to your supervisor. You report to them, and they have the right to tell you what to do.
