My Family is a 1995 independent American drama directed by Gregory Nava written by Nava and Anna Thomas, The film shows  three generations of a Mexican American family who immigrated from Mexico and settled in East Los Angeles .

The 2002 film depicts , An Irish immigrant family adjusts to life in the United States.The semi-autobiographical film by Sheridan and his daughters focuses on an immigrant Irish family's struggle to start a new life in New York City, as seen through the eyes of the elder daughter.

Filmmaker Elia Kazan based Amrica, America on the early life of his Greek-immigrant uncle called Stavros Topouzoglow. As a young immigrant, his starry-eyed impressions of America are soon compromised by reality.

In the middle of the 19th century, Kristina and Karl-Oskar live in a small rural village in southern Sweden. The small size of their land, the infertile soil, and some bad harvests makes it tough.Thus, they  emigrate to the U.S.
