German/Deutsch: Course Catalog Description, Objectives, and Outcomes

GER111 Course Objectives:

As a result of this course students will be able to:

(1)  Build and develop German vocabulary;

 (2) Develop oral, auditory, reading, and writing skills in German;

 (3) Develop communicative abilities in German;

 (4) Understand cross-cultural similarities and differences between German-speaking and North American cultures.

GER111 Course Learning Outcomes: Following completion of this course, students will be able to conduct brief authentic conversations (listening/understanding and speaking) in German, to read related material, and to write adequately to meet limited practical needs. Students will be able to identify several cultural practices and traditions of several German-speaking countries.
