AI PROMPTS
Define your role and the AI's role
PLEASE NOTE input these prompts one at a time for best results, and stop to THINK about the feedback provided.
- Take notes, or print out the feedback provided and review it. SAVE the interaction.
- Ask your professor if they would be willing to discuss it with you. This can be a valuable learning experience.
Provide the AI interface with enough information.
SAMPLE
"I am a sophomore in college enrolled in a college class. I am writing a paper about ________."
Your (the AI interface's) role is to please:
- Review the assignment guidelines and check my paper to determine if those guidelines are covered [pause and wait for feedback]
- Review my opening paragraph - does it have a thesis statement and sufficient information for the reader to understand the topic being covered? [pause and wait for feedback]
- Review my rough draft for grammar and punctuation first, then for flow. [pause and wait for feedback]
- Review my ending paragraph - does it follow the logic and flow of the paper, and come to a logical conclusion or ending? [pause and wait for feedback]
- How could the logic and writing mechanics of the paper be improved? [pause and wait for feedback]
- If you were my teacher, what questions might you have about the paper? [pause and wait for feedback]
Add additional prompts based on feedback.
- For example, if the AI interface says you are breaking a specific grammar rule, think about how you can grow your skill in that area. Ask the AI for grammar worksheets to improve in that area.
