Recommended databases

Resources you may want to use for some of your essays:

  • CQ Researcher: Full-length articles include an overview, historical background, chronology, pro/con feature, plus resources for additional research.
  • EBSCO: Scholarly, multi-disciplinary full text databases. EBSCO also contains the following subject-specific databases: Atla, Business Source Premier, CPLI, ERIC, History Reference Center, Literature Reference Center Plus, PsycArticles, and PsycINFO.
  • Access Science: Great starting point for researching a science topic; online and fully searchable articles which are fully illustrated
  • Proquest: Academic multi-disciplinary databases that contain full-text, scholarly articles.

Note for students

PLEASE NOTE

You may or may not need to use a lot of resources for your essays. If you are writing an opinion paper, you may need very few (or no) resources other than your own opinion, as long as you have enough information to write your essay. For other assignments, you may need a newspaper article, or a journal article.
