The Assignment
The TASK:
A five page paper directly related to course learning objectives, specifically, is Global Warming really happening? How do we know that it is or is not occurring? Is it man made or a natural phenomenon?
You will gather information about global warming, select (or create your own) a hypothesis concerning global warming, review the literature in support of and against the particular hypothesis, analyze the information available in the popular scientific literature, and then draw your own conclusion, which you will need to support with more articles.
Q. How many articles? A. As many as needed, but no less than 5.
The PURPOSE of the assignment:

A. Your ability to critically evaluate whether Global Warming is occurring using the Scientific Method. You are not being asked to design an experiment, but you are being asked to evaluate the evidence presented by others.
The CRITERIA:
- APA format
- A critical analysis of the potential severity of rapid climate change on
- Atmosphere
- Oceans
- Biosphere
- Other ( a particular country, the global/local economy, a particular animal species, resources, population, etc...)
- What does a critical analysis contain?
- A statement of the "problem"
- The hypothesis you are evaluating, and what research supports it, as well as refutes it. Use quotes to provide your reader a better understanding of the issues.
- An analysis of the research reviewed in your own words, using other [more] resources to support your position about the hypothesis
- Your conclusion(s) about the problem, and hypothesis using research articles [as needed] to support your conclusion(s)
