ENG 121: Academic Writing: Find Yourself in NYT

Instructions

Find yourself in the New York Times

This exercise comes in three parts, and serves many purposes. You each have a copy of a current or very recent New York Times, which is delivered free to you courtesy of Saint Leo.

Step 1: You are to look through the sections and identify an article that you identify strongly with. The article must be at least four paragraphs; no maximum scope here.

Step 2: Once you’ve identified the article that you identify most strongly with, draft a brief essay of no less than three paragraphs that summarizes the article and explains your connection to it.

Bring your essay to class with you next period and be prepared to share your summary with a partner.

Step 3:  Collaboration with partner to discuss more about writing.
