Color Printing

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING

There is only one Color Printer located within Cannon Memorial Library.

The Color Printer is located on the Main floor of the Library within the Copy Room and requires payment (10¢) for each color copy made.

You may only print to the Color Printer by using the desktop computers within the Cannon Memorial Library and depositing monies into machine.


Wireless Printing Stations

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING

There are TWO wireless printing stations located within Cannon Memorial Library.

The wireless printing stations are located

Add Windows 8,10 Printer

Adding a Printer to Windows 8 & 10

         Head to the Windows Devices screen. You can access the Windows Devices screen by hovering over the right hand corner of your

         screen until the side panel (aka: the charms bar) appears, or you can press the Windows Key + C   

         

 

10 Choose the option Generic Network Card, then click Next.

11. From there, your machine will state that it is “Detecting the driver model” – this may take several moments.

12. Next you will be asked to Install a Printer Driver. Download and and run the setup for the correct driver below, then click Have Disk.

Circulation Desk IP Address: 172.20.0.6 Ricoh SP 5210DN driver

Laptop Area (Apple Compatible) IP Address: 172.20.0.7 Ricoh MP 4000 driver.

 Download and save the specific PCL 6 Driver for your computer Operating System (IE: Windows 7 32bit/64bit or Windows 8 32bit/64bit etc.)

*NOTE*

*To download Print driver for Circulation printer go to: http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_e/ra/model/sp52/sp52en.htm  or Google SP 5210DN print driver and select link for Aficio SP 5200/5210DN download page.

                   

*To download Print driver for Laptop Area printer go to: http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_e/re/model/mp40/mp40en.htm or Google MP 4000 print driver and select link for Aficio MP 4000/4000B/5000/5000B download page.

                   

 * Remember where you saved the file because you will be asked to browse to its location & run it. (It is recommended that you create a folder and save file in your Downloads folder)

* After finding the printer file, you will be asked which printer model you are trying to add (IE: If I decided to download the driver for the Circulation Desk printer, I will choose the RICOH Aficio SP 5210DN PCL6 printer) and then click Next.  

13. The next screen will ask you to type a printer name. In the printer Name area, you can choose to leave the default name, or change the name to whatever name you wish such as “Circulation Desk Printer,” then click Next

14. When you receive the screen labeled Printer Sharing, you will choose the option Do Not share this printer, & then you will click Next.

15. Finally, you will get a message stating that you have successfully added a printer. Now you may choose to set it as the default printer, and/or print a test page, then click Finish.

Add Windows 7 Printer

Adding a Wireless Printer to Windows 7

**Make sure that you are connected to the SLUNET wireless before printing to the Circulation desk or Laptop area printers**

1. Go to start ball icon  in the bottom left corner of your screen
2. Go to devices and printers

                                                  
 

3. At the top, click on “Add a printer

                                                   


4. Choose to “Add a local printer

                                                       


5. Choose the radio button “Create a new port,” and change the drop down menu to “Standard TCP/IP Port”; then click “Next

6. The next window you will see will look like the image below. In the Hostname or IP Address field, type in the IP address that is associated with the printer (the port name will automatically be filled in as you type in the hostname/IP Address); then make sure that the Query the Printer and Automatically select the driver to use is checked, then click Next – (this may take several moments).

7. Choose “Generic Network Card,” then click Next.
8. From there, your machine will state that it is “Detecting the driver model” – This may take a several moments

9. Next you will be asked to Install a Printer Driver. Download and run the setup for the correct driver below, then click Have Disk.

Add Mac OS X Printer

Color Printing

Note: Instructions are based on OS X 10.8. Minor differences exist for users of Mac OS X 10.7, 10.6, and 10.5.

Printing Instructions

  1. Select System Preferences from the Apple menu.

  1. Double-click on Print & Scan (Print & Fax).

  1. In the Print & Scan (Print & Fax) window, click on the plus sign button.

  1. Click on the IP tab in the Print Browser window.
  • Set Protocol to HP Jetdirect - Socket.
  • For Address, enter the IP address of the printer you want to add. 
    • Laptop Area IP Address: 172.20.0.007
  • Leave the Queue field blank.  The Name and Location fields are for your reference to keep track of your printers and differentiate between multiple ones.
  • For Print Using, do not select Generic Postscript Printer.  OS X will try to locate an appropriate driver but if it cannot, then it is recommended you download the correct driver from the manufacturer.  Click on the name of the printer on the printer list to be taken to the manufacturer's driver download page.
  • Additionally you can download the print driver and manually install it directly:

Circulation Desk (Apple Compatible) IP Address: 172.20.0.6 Ricoh SP 5210DN driver.

Laptop Area (Apple Compatible) IP Address: 172.20.0.7 Ricoh MP 4000 driver.

Download and save the specific PPD Installer for your Mac OS X version (IE: Mac OS X 10.12 (macOS Sierra), Mac OS X 10.11 (OS X El Capitan) etc.)

*NOTE*

* After finding the printer file, you will be asked which printer model you are trying to add (IE: If I decided to download the driver for the Laptop Area printer, I will choose the RICOH Aficio MP 4000 printer) and then click Add.  

Laptop Area IP Settings (Mac OS X)

Change above settings accordingly to print to Circulation Desk

  1. The printer will be added to your list of printers.
