SLU 125: Choosing Wellness (Kunzweiler): Videos/Non-Research Articles

Access medical journals, magazines, reference works, multimedia, and much more. (Requires SLU login.)

To find videos:

• After logging in, click on Health in the menu on the left.
• Then click on Health & Wellness Resource Center.
• Click on Advanced Search.
• Enter your keywords in the search box.
• Enter publication dates if applicable.
• Under Content Types, click on Videos.
• Click on Search.
• To view a video, click on the title.
• Under the picture of the video, you will see the Full Text.
• See the Tools menu in the upper right corner.
  • Click on Citation Tools to cite the video.
  • Choose the Citation Format from the dropdown menu: APA 6^th edition
  • Check to make sure the formatting is correct.
• You can also Email the video link to yourself from the Tools menu.

To find non-research based articles:  Follow the steps above, but for Content Type select Magazines.

• After logging in, enter your keywords in the search box.
• Click on the red search button.
• Use the Filters on the right to narrow down your results if desired.
• Scroll down to Copyright Date and select "Within 5 years."
• Click on the title of a video to see more information.
• In the upper right corner:
  • Click on "Details" to see Copyright date.
  • Click on "Transcript" to see the text of the video.
• Under the picture of the video, note the Description.
  • There are also links for the  video URL (Embed/Link) and the Citation (choose APA).
