Reading Across the Curriculum (RAC) at Saint Leo University: Fall 2014 - RAC: Getting to the Point of Reading (Reading REDUX)

READING ACROSS THE CURRICULUM SERIES: READINGREDUX: Second Webinar: Getting to the Point of Reading,
Wednesday, November 12th at 8pm EST
The WAC Initiative is continuing its program of faculty training on Reading Across the Curriculum (RAC).
As we know, good writing and reading skills are intricately connected, and students today struggle with not only learning to write effectively but also learning to read effectively. This “aliteracy” as it is called, is the lack of solid reading habits and skills in college students today and has become more prevalent in recent years.
We continue this year’s training with “Reading Redux,” a look back at our initial webinars on the background to RAC and a look back on basic strategies.
These webinars will revisit information from last year’s original series while updating and adding information for return participants.
Whether you are new to RAC, or returning for more, please join us for the second session,
Getting to the Point of Reading,  on Wednesday, November 12th, from 8-9pm EST, presented by Dr. Lin Carver, Assistant Professor of Education.
