Reading Across the Curriculum (RAC) at Saint Leo University: FALL 2014 - RAC: Intro to RAC (Reading REDUX)

Reading Across The Curriculum Series Announcement

The WAC Initiative is continuing its program of faculty training on Reading Across the Curriculum (RAC).
As we know, good writing and reading skills are intricately connected, and students today struggle with not only learning to write effectively but also learning to read effectively. This “aliteracy” as it is called, is the lack of solid reading habits and skills in college students today and has become more prevalent in recent years.
We open this year’s training with “Reading Redux,” a look back at our initial webinars on the background to RAC and Basic Strategies Sessions I and II.
These webinars will revisit information from last year’s original series while updating and adding information for return participants.
Whether you are new to RAC, or returning for more, please join us for the first session, Reading Across the Curriculum: An Introduction for Faculty Revisited, on Tuesday, October 28th , from 8-9pm EST, presented by Dr. Valerie Wright and Dr. Mary Spoto.
