Survey of college counseling & mental health services during the pandemicThis 91-page study presents data from 20 North American colleges and universities about their mental health services. The benchmarking study helps its readers to answer questions such as: what are overall budgets for college mental health services and are they rising or falling? What has been the impact of the pandemic on college mental health services? Has their overall staffing increased or decreased over the past year and if so by how much? What new positions have been added or eliminated?How effective are triage techniques in dealing with students seeking help? What are the most commonly perceived mental health problems? How much has the pandemic impacted bipolar disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, and sexual abuse, and general depression and anxiety in the student population? What online techniques and services are colleges deploying to deliver mental health services to students studying from home?

Improving Mental Health Help-Seeking Among Male University Students: A Series of Gender-Sensitive Mental Health Feasibility InterventionsOne-third of students experience a mental health condition associated with decreased academic functioning and increased risk of dropping out. While mental health difficulties are lower among male students, they are twice as likely to die by suicide. Although the importance of gender-sensitive interventions for male students has been emphasized, feasible and effective approaches are unexplored. This investigation conducted three gender-sensitive feasibility interventions for male students to evaluate acceptability, changes to help-seeking and mental health outcomes. Three interventions were delivered to 24 male students.

The relationship between on-campus service utilization and common mental health concerns in undergraduate college students.Little research exists into the trends associated with on-campus service utilization for mental health concerns of college students. Rates of broad service utilization exist, but no published study has examined the direct relationship between a range of common mental health symptoms and on-campus service utilization.

Bridging the gap: Addressing the mental health needs of underrepresented collegiate students at psychology training clinics.Mental health treatment utilization on college campuses remains disproportionately low among underrepresented (UR) students (i.e., racial/ethnic minorities, first-generation college students, and students from low-income families). Additionally, UR students report that factors including stigma, long wait times, and costs are barriers to accessing treatment. Given these trends, new methods to bolster the utilization of counseling services among UR college students are needed.
