Course Description

Throughout the history of America, indigenous people have both fought against Manifest Destiny and been used as an indispensable force within it all the while gaining critical experience supporting social and political movements in defense of their own tribes’ existence. This course considers the role of native warriors as Veterans of the United States military and the place of honor they hold in indigenous societies in the service to two sovereigns.
