In 1973, Congress passed the Rehabilitation Act, requiring access to federally funded programs and facilities for those with disabilities. In 1977, activists, including Judy Heumann, confronted officials in the longest demonstration takeover of a federal building in history. In 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act was passed.
We will have a book discussion event on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 7PM.
