PowerPoint Guidelines
Objective: Investigate one of the scientific concepts related to evolution in more depth. You will take one of the scientific principles discussed in your paper and investigate this topic with increased depth. Provide background knowledge and case studies using your chosen topic from the instructor provided list.
Create a PowerPoint using 5 written sources: 2 will be your textbooks, 3 will be library database articles. You will also include images.
Power Point Formatting:
The Power Point will have a total of 16 slides.
First slide is a title slide.
Second slide is an introduction to the content or objectives slide, explaining what the Power Point will cover.
There will be 13 slides in the body of your Power Point. No more than 4 slides can have a picture, table, or figure without a typed description accompanying it.
The last slide will be a "References" slide. 5 references to scientific literature are required. This includes Shubin and Coyne’s books.
Remember to cite the source of pictures and graphs either on the slide or at the end of PowerPoint, but these do not count toward content references.
Essay Guidelines (Please note this assignment has been modified to include a PowerPoint; some UE - SCI 115 sections will have a 10-page essay without a PowerPoint).
Objective: Provide an integrated perspective on the theory of evolution which includes scientific, sociological, theological, and philosophical points of view.
5- page Essay reflecting each of these perspectives, as described in Coyne text “Why Evolution Is True.”
You will reflect upon each of the themes in the chapters in Coynes’ book. It should include reflections on your growing understanding of what Evolution is and what it isn't. It should include your personal journey of discovery related to the concept of evolution. It should also include philosophical, theological, and sociological reflections as well as demonstrating a scientific understanding of evolution. You should critique and evaluate the ideas presented in the book, using your scientific understanding of the process of evolution.
5 sources are required: 2 scientific, one theological, one philosophical, and one sociological perspective.

APA Format
12 pt. font., Times New Roman, Calibri, or Arial
1 inch margin top, bottom, sides
Title Page: Unique Title to your perspective (not "Evolution")
5 Full page of content (not including title page or references page)

References page: At least 5 credible sources of reference - (2) will be Shubin and Coyne's books and (3) other scientific (peer-reviewed) sources of your choice, supporting each of the philosophical, theological, and sociological approaches.
